In addition to memberships in the National Association of Home Builders and the Eastern Shore Builders Association, Lyons Development has strong ties to the communities in which we build.

Individually, our staff maintains memberships in numerous civic, school and community organizations. Collectively, we have established the Lyons Development Relay for Life team and hope to raise lots of money as we join the American Cancer Society in their quest for a cure.

To reinforce our commitment to the environment and raise awareness in our industry for programs such as Energy Star, we have created the Green Builder Scholarship Award. This is a renewable $1,000 scholarship presented to a college bound senior from an Accomack County, Virginia or Worcester County, Maryland Public School. The student must be planning to major in Civil or Construction Engineering, Environmental Policy and Science, Regional Planning and Development, Architectural Engineering and Design, or other related fields. Our 2005 scholarship recipient Kacey Decker, shown above receiving the award from Skip and Debbie Lyons, is currently majoring in Environmental Policy and Science with a concentration in Biology at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
